Not all families can afford to make salmon or hake burgers, so on this occasion, and thanks to the suggestion of a mother, we offer a very inexpensive recipe, and at the same time healthy and very tasty for children: sardine burgers or canned sardines.
It is a practical and simple recipe. Sardine is a highly recommended blue fish in the diet of children and adults.
- 1 can of sardines or sardines in olive oil
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon (soup) of chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon of a minced garlic clove
- ½ small onion grated
- 1 egg
- 1 chopped tomato
- Salt to taste
- Pepper (optional)
Because it has a good source of omega-3, it helps lower cholesterol levels, preventing cardiovascular diseases. It is also a fish with a lot of protein, and with an unmistakable flavor.
1- Throw the excess oil or any pimples from the sardines and crumble them with your fingers in a bowl.
2- Add the minced garlic, parsley, grated onion and finely chopped tomato.
3- Add the egg, salt and pepper, and mash everything with a fork, to mix it very well.
4- Add the breadcrumbs and knead with your hands until the mixture is like a compact dough and allows us to mold it. If you see that it is necessary, add more breadcrumbs until you get the correct consistency.
5- Form the hamburgers and fry them in hot oil. Brown them on both sides.
6- You can accompany the hamburgers with what the children like the most. We have preferred to make it with white rice with some sautéed peas and corn.
