Feijoada It is the star dish of Brazil and one of its great exponents together with the caipirinha, the Carnival and the samba. Its fundamental ingredients are black beans, although in Portugal white or red are also served, and pork. It is usually served with rice and orange slices.

It is believed that this stew was born in the 16th century, with the arrival of black slaves from Africa. The owners of the banana and coffee plantations filled their tables with a large quantity of food and the slaves collected the leftovers to mix them with the beans. That's where the feijoada comes from.

It is a delicious dish as well as being very complete and nutritious for children, due to its high iron content. Also so your children can know the flavors of Brazil.

  • 1 red chorizo
  • 1 piece of tail (optional)
  • 1 green and 1 red pepper
  • Onion and garlic

1. Soak the black beans overnight. The next morning, bring water to a boil with water and oil and pour the beans into it. Let them cook for about 2 hours. They must be soft.
